Adamson House Wedding Video+Malibu California+Stefani and Jason

por | | 0 comments

If you've ever been to Malibu California you know that there's not much to complain about. Even the traffic jams driving up PCH is pretty darn nice (the view to your left that is).

When I looked at my schedule prior to this Malibu Beach wedding and saw that I would be working with an entourage of very cool wedding professionals I was even more stoked to be shooting Stefani and Jason's wedding. As cool as all of my clients are, getting to work with great vendors makes all the difference in the world.

We couldn't have asked for better conditions. A mid September day, perfect temperature, a stones throw from Malibu Beach and one awesome venue to shoot at.

Malibu's Adamson House was the set for this beautiful wedding. Since I did not meet Stefani and Jason prior to their wedding day I really didn't know much about them. During their vows (which they wrote themselves) I had the chance to hear a little back story of how they met and how long they have been together...btw over a decade, which was awesome to hear.

This wedding was coordinated by one of my favorite wedding and event planners on the planet: Paola from Just Chic Events. We have worked together many times and every single event is always extraordinary.

The photographer was Ryan Jones of RCJones Photography in Fresno. Let me say, Ryan has a great eye for capturing an image. I love his sense of style and I'd like to add he is very candid when shooting and cool and humble guy. Although he is based in Fresno, he often shoots Los Angeles and Orange County Weddings...certainly worth checking out if you are in need of a photographer. Some images from this wedding can be seen here.

Another fabulous wedding professional this day was Sherry McAlly from On Location Beauty. I think I have shot about 40 weddings where Sherry was the make up artists, she rocks and never disappoints!

Edge Entertainment took care of entertaining the guests all night long.

Here's a teaser of what the day looked like through my lens.

Congratulations Chrissy and Seth

por | | 0 comments

Congratulations to my sweet friends, Chrissy and Seth, who got engaged last night! I'm so happy for you both. I'm sure you can't wait for the planning, dress appointments, cake tastings and of course the big day.

For all the gentlemen out there who are about to pop the question you'll want to check out these tips from Peter Post of The Emily Post Institute.

Day 10: Make a Plan

Decide on the who, what, when, where and why of how you will ask her to marry you. A public place or a private setting? First thing in the morning or late at night? Think about what suits your personalities and relationship. Keep in mind, this is a story she will be telling for the rest of her life and you want her to be proud to tell it. But at the same time, the more complex a plan you concoct, the more difficult to pull off.

Day 9: The Ring

You’ve got two options here: pick the ring you know she’ll love or go with something basic and let her choose the setting and band once she’s said yes. If you go with the latter, remember that this is not an insult to your jewelry selection capabilities. You want to make sure it’s the ring she wants.

Day 8: To Ask or Not to Ask - Permission from Her Dad

Individual circumstances determine whether you should ask permission from her father, either alone or with your intended, or if you should simply announce your plans together. Be respectful of the culture and traditions of your future wife’s family. This will help you decide the most appropriate course of action.

Day 7: Schedule Her In

Don’t forget to make plans with her for the big day. It would be pretty embarrassing to go through all this effort and then have her tell you “I’m not available that night, I have yoga class till 8:30 p.m.”

Day 6: Dress

Figure out what you’re going to wear. Make sure it’s clean and pressed. Shoes polished. Hole-free socks. Get a haircut. Shave. You want to look and feel your best.

Day 5: Flowers

There’s only one choice: red roses. Lots and lots of red roses. And remember, even if you think flowers don’t matter, they do.

Day 4: Food

To cook or go out? Don’t cook. Think about it. You want to focus on her, not on cooking. Make a reservation at the nicest restaurant you can afford. Try not to be a nervous wreck, hopefully you’ll enjoy the meal. If you’re planning to pop the question there, ask the maitre d' for a quiet table.

Day 3: Wine

This is clearly a champagne occasion. Pop the question early and then order a bottle to celebrate. You can even call ahead and arrange to have the sommelier bring the champagne out once you’ve proposed.

Day 2: Practice

Think about what you are going to say and how you are going to say it. Decide if you’re a down-on-one-knee kind of guy. Visualize what’s going to happen. You’ve established a plan for the dinner, now think about how you’re going to actually pull this off. Make sure you know how to get to where you are going. Remember these could be some of the most important words she hears from you, so make them memorable.

Day 1: Just Do It!

Give yourself time to get ready. Don’t forget the ring. Do plan on having a night the two of you will always remember. Look her in the eye and speak from the heart. Enjoy the moment!

Happy Planning!

Stephanie

2009 Wedding Trends

2009 Wedding Trends
Simply Natural would like to wish everyone a health, happy and joyous New Year!

With a New Year comes new trends.  Here's what's hot in 2009!

Green Going Strong
Of course, my favorite trend from 2007, 2008 and still going strong in 2009 is
green weddings.  Weddings are a great way to incorporate your values.  Starting at the planning stages, you can use recycled invitations, and organic flowers for your ceremony and reception. Offering locally-grown organic food and wine is a great treat for your guests.

Grey is the New Brown
Shades of silver, pewter and charcoal all create a neutral background for hot, bold colors like hot pink, canary yellow and fire engine red or soft, pale colors of lavender and creamy whites.

Vintage Glam
1920's is all the rage.  Brides wearing birdcage veils and fascinators.  Antique lace and satin gowns, while bridesmaids adorn flapper dresses.  Art Deco-inspired receptions and a vintage getaway car complete the look.

Short & Sweet
Been working out your gams?  Then show them off with a mini or knee-length wedding dress.

Of course, your own style should shine through!

The wedding invitations whit oranges.

por | | 0 comments

My sister was looking an original theme, and unusual for her wedding, so we did everything with oranges.
I made their invitations printed with orange draw on the front and dried orange as a garnish and inside I wrote this thinking.

I found my half orange
and together we will to walk a new road in life.

The wedding souvenirs were also highly original as it consisted of some type tube squeezers, which were in great demand by guests.
The juice is brought from USA and Mexico that are not.

Wedding Decor Recycling

por | | 0 comments

As far as big league wedding blogs go, Ruffled is one of my all-time favorites. As Korie Lynn pointed out, I cited it as one of the major inspirations for the bridal shower I threw for my sis-in-law, Amanda. (I snagged those cupcake pennants from the Ruffled's DIY free downloads!)
I don't know how I missed it, but Ruffled has done it again with their latest innovation, a wedding recycling marketplace where brides can buy and sell each other's decor. Get this, the listings are free! (Isn't that a bride's favorite word?) It's like classy Craigslist exclusively for weddings. I simply love the "green" concept of re-using perfectly good items that might otherwise just be filling space in an attic. And the chance to save (or make) a buck is always welcome. So, if you're in the midst of planning your affair, hop on over to Ruffled's Recycling tab and check out what recent brides are selling that may be a lovely addition to your decor. And who knows? Maybe in a few months, you'll be passing on your a few things to a like-minded bride-to-be. Some highlights are below. (Pardon the pixelated pics, svp!)
